Terry Van Cleave

Terry Van Cleave was born and raised in Mid-America. Early in life, he had an interest and talent in art. He sold his first oil painting in high school to a former employer. He entered the military service directly from high school and retired from the Army to Tucson in 1991.

Terry is painting full time now after fully retiring in 2019. Although the art classes he attended in high school were the only formal training he ever had, he considers each work an experiment and learning process.

Terry's work is mostly realistic impressionism. The subject matter of his art is usually the American West and western genre. He appreciates the beauty of the Southwest and Rocky Mountains. Some of the artists that influence him include Howard Terpning, James Bama, Tim Cox, Chris Owen, and the great Greg Larson of "The Far Side" fame.

Come see Terry's work at the Sedona Art Market. Currently, our hours are 10 to 4 every day but Monday, when we are closed.
