Naomi Brown: Southwestern Artist

Naomi Brown was born in Palm Springs, California, in 1975 and now resides in Queen Creek, Arizona with her husband and children.

She is a self-taught artist and has been painting for the past 15 years. Her favorite subjects are Southwest and Western landscapes and animals in acrylic and oil.

"I am very passionate about my Southwest desert surroundings and try to portray this through each piece of my work. My goal with my art is to move the viewer and give them an emotional connection to the subject through my paintings. I am very grateful that I am able to do what I love each day."

Naomi's work is in private collections and has toured around the United States. She has been showcased in the online magazine Gateway to Sedona, the January and August 2015 issues of Southwest Art Magazine, and the September 2015 edition of American Art Collector Magazine.

Naomi recently was one of the top 100 finalists for 2017 Southwest Art magazine Artist in the Artist in Excellence competition. Naomi is represented by her publisher Foundation Arts and is a published artist in Deseret Book.

She had two pieces of her work chosen for the 20th Anniversary Arts for the Parks in 2006 and eleven pieces chosen for the national competition Paint the Parks and Paint America.

"Once you let the desert enter your soul it changes you forever. The desert lets you feel a simplistic, raw freedom that is hard to find. My desert calms me with its peace and beauty. I have been fortunate to have grown up in Twentynine Palms and enjoy its beauty thru its smallest desert animals to its vast open colorful landscapes."

"The Desert has been instilled in my heart forever."
