Hopi Holiday Project

The 20th annual Hopi Holiday Project by Crossing Worlds Hopi Projects is under way. This Sedona and Verde Valley nonprofit volunteer group provides support year-round for Hopi families and Hopi service groups to help grow sustainability in their remote villages in northeastern Arizona. Hopis are the descendants of the ancestral peoples of northern Arizona and still maintain ceremonial connection to many sites throughout the whole region.
Hopi community leaders participate in this winter food and gift distribution which occurs in several villages.
A donation and information table will be set up at Sedona Artist Market on Saturday, Dec. 8, Dec. 15, and Dec. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. There will also be a collection box at SAM from Nov. 23 through Dec. 24.
Key needs for 2018 include monetary donations; art, school, and sports supplies for youth; and toiletry gift bags for elders. Among food items needed are nuts, dried fruit, tuna, canned corned beef, and natural peanut butter. No stuffed animals or used clothing please.
Come in for more specific information about what is needed and how you can help. Sedona Artist Market is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
