Just Me, Sylvia

Scarf, Necklace and Jacket all made by Sylvia

Sylvia Farrell was born and grew up in Phoenix, AZ. She started sewing on her mother's treadle sewing machine at age 5. She said she always wanted to design and make clothing. Sylvia attended design school in L.A. and came home to Phoenix and opened her first boutique at age 24.

Sylvia enjoys adding surface designs or dying fabrics to add color and interest to make her clothing unique. As you can see in the picture above she love casual comfortable clothing. She is drawn to clear fresh colors in fabrics and stones. The rich red Sedona colors along with the Arizona turquoise stones are an inspiration.

She later opened many stores in tourist areas in her home state of AZ. Sylvia has lived in the beautiful Red Rock area of Sedona Az. for the past 20 years. "It is an artist`s haven." Says Sylvia

Recently, Sylvia realized a long time desire to make and design jewelry. The colors and beauty of the stones are what inspire her. She presently works with silver, gold filled and other fine metals, designing soft, comfortable, casual clothing with an elegant feel. She loves to work with silks and uses many different ways to embellish her creations. Piecing, tie dye, hand painting and stamping are just a few techniques she uses to create unique one of a kind pieces.
