Many people who visit the Sedona Artist Market mistake larimar for turquoise due to its deep sky-blue color. But larimar is not local to the Southwest. It was actually discovered in the Dominican Republic...so far the only place it has been found.

Gary James has an amazing display of pieces with larimar set in sterling silver. Some are original pieces and some are repurposed from older Mexican or Native American pieces. Gary will often replace an old or broken stone with a piece of larimar.

The silverwork of this ring was created by a Navajo artist (unsigned). It features a caviar bezel and a new 20mm larimar nugget stone.

This ring is size 9.5 and weighs 21.2 grams.
