Happy Sweetest Day

We know, we know. This sounds like one of those Hallmark made-up holidays designed to get you to spend money on cards and flowers and candy. But Sweetest Day actually started out as Candy Day over 100 years ago. In 1916, the National Confectioners' Association designated the third Saturday in October as a day to make a difference through acts of kindness. Why not celebrate today by sharing a kind thought, a small gift, or a gesture of kindness? We're happy to help you pick out a special gift. We're here 10-5 every day and have a wide variety of art in so many different forms. Perfect gifts for Sweetest Day! Asinikwe -- Stone Woman

Originally from Couchiching First Nation in the territory currently known as Ontario, Canada, Sharon Foy Harney also goes by the name Asinikwe, which in the Anishinaabe culture means "Stone Woman." Sharon's world is centered around her family. She is the mother of five children, sixteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Sharon currently lives with her husband Dave in Camp Verde where she practices her art as a form of therapy and healing. Proud of her heritage, Sharon continues to follow the Anishinaabe ways of bimaadziwin, which means "living in a good way" to encourage and support all those around her. Stop by the Sedona Artist Market to see Sharon's amazing art! We are here 10-5

Donna Busse

The Sedona Artist Market is proud to present Donna Busse and her amazing masks. It took Donna Busse 50 years to figure out what she wanted to do when she grew up. Not thinking of herself as an artist (because she couldn't draw a decent stick man!), she discovered resin and mica powders. It was love at first sight. Donna soon developed her own technique and style for making resin faces (in mostly handmade wooden frames) that are incredibly unique. Donna's hope is that her art brings you joy and inspires you to figure out what you want to do when you grow up. Stop by and check out Donna's amazing art in Booth 14. We are open 10-5 every day!

Chris Whitehorn: Artist, Winemaker, Local

Artists like Chris and others at the Sedona Artist Market thrive on your continued interest in objects that appeal at once to your sense of beauty and function. Each of Chris's unique handmade pieces is high-fire (cone 10) stoneware, making it microwave- and oven-safe, in addition to being well-insulated. According to Chris, "functional ceramic ware is one of the most intimate objects you can interact with in the span of your day. You hold it in your hand when you wake up with coffee or tea; you share moments over meals with it; and you spend lots of time with it in the scheme of personal effects. Make sure it's something you love." Visit Chris's ceramics any day from 10-5.
