New Oil Paintings by Debbie Lavook

When Debbie Lavook was about six years old, her father took her to the Cincinnati Art Museum every Saturday for Saturday classes. She drew and painted in the halls of the museum among some of the greatest works of art of all time. Her teachers were the artists from the Cincinnati Art Academy. In high school, Debbie developed a strong portfolio of ceramics, sterling silver jewelry making, fiber art, batik, sketching, watercolor, and oil painting. She was accepted into DAA, Design Art and Architecture at the University of Cincinnati. Debbie became an art teacher and taught K-12 grades with joy. Ken Barnes

Ken Barnes has always been fascinated with the production of a thing of function and beauty from a piece of raw clay and a few chemicals. Born in Yorkshire, England, he studied ceramics for several years before immigrating to Michigan in 1981 where he continued to study and foster his addiction to clay. Ken says clay is the perfect medium. "After a rough day one can become completely absorbed in throwing a complex form on the wheel and forget the rigors of daily life. This became very important during my other job days as an engineering manager. Caroline Patrick BorNei began painting in oils at age six after receiving a treasured painting kit from her father. She showed promise and began taking lessons. Caroline paints images which come from within. She has taught in many colleges, was a weekly newspaper columnist for 14 years, and owned a popular gallery in Benicia, California for nine years. Caroline is a published author and master feng shui practitioner with over 6,000 consultations and Red Ribbon Professional of the International Feng Shui Guild.
